Thought for the day
1/ The amount of technology that goes into the development of a 4000R57 OTR tire is divided into 60% for the casing, 40% for the tread.
2/ The cost of production for the 40000R57 is 60% for the casing, 40% for the tread.
3/ The amount of raw material used to manufacture a 40000R57 tire is enough to produce 600 small car tires.
4/ Some mining companies have policies not to retread tires
5/ Some mining companies have policies not to section repair tires
Think about this
1/ When an engine is worn out in a haul truck, do we replace the truck?
2/ When the transmission is worn out in a haul truck, do we replace the truck?
Just imagine at 60% of the cost of a 4000R57 tire how much is being wasted.
Should every mining company take a good hard look at their operation & thought about conservation by way of retreading/repairing tires, would we have the shortages we have today?
